Several theme parks and vacation destinations use special terms or abbreviations to describe special events, locations, or items within each park. Here is a list of the most important ones (also the ones your Fairy Godmother will use often):
Theme Resorts
- WDW = Walt Disney World. This refers to the entire Walt Disney World Resort which has 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, Downtown Disney, the Boardwalk and over 20 hotels.
- DLR = Disneyland Resort. This refers to the entire Disneyland Resort which has 2 theme parks, Downtown Disney, 3 hotels, and several “good neighbor” hotels.
- Universal Orlando = Universal Studios Orlando Resort. This refers to the entire Universal Studios Orlando Resort which has 2 theme parks and Universal City Walk.
- Universal Hollywood = Universal Studios Hollywood Resort. This refers to the entire Universal Studios Hollywood Resort which has 1 theme park, Universal City Walk and 1 hotel.
Theme Parks and Locations
- MK = Magic Kingdom Theme Park (WDW)
- EP = Epcot Theme Park (WDW)
- HS = Disney’s Hollywood Studios (WDW)
- DL = Disneyland (DLR)
- DCA = Disney’s California Adventure (DLR)
Other Terms
- Cast Member = a Disney employee
- FP = Fast Pass
- Attractions = any ride or show
- Characters = these are your favorite movie/cartoon icons (i.e. Mickey Mouse, Woody, Cinderella, Harry Potter, etc.)
- Meet & Greet = locations where you can meet Characters
